EcoVadis Silver Medal
EcoVadis, the world’s most trusted independent provider of business sustainability ratings, with a global network of over 130,000 rated companies, awarded Pan American Zinc its Silver Medal in October of 2024, on our first attempt to obtain a sustainability rating. The EcoVadis methodology is built on international sustainability standards, covering over 220 industries and more than 180 countries. It takes into account the policies adopted, the actions taken, and the results obtained by the company with respect to 21 sustainability criteria across four different macro-areas: Environment, Labor and Human Rights, Ethics, and Sustainable Procurement.
With a score of 69/100, Pan American Zinc has been rated at the 89th percentile, ranking superior to or equal to 89% of all companies rated by EcoVadis in the past 12 months.
This achievement places Pan American Zinc in a leading position regarding sustainable practices across the wholesale industry of metals and metal ores, providing an important benchmark to continue building on as we explore sustainable business practices and set higher goals for ourselves in the future.
President’s “E” Award
Pan American Zinc was honored to receive the 2024 “E” Award for Export Service from U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo. This prestigious award is the highest recognition a U.S. entity can receive for making a significant contribution to the expansion of U.S. exports.
The award was presented in May of 2024, at the 63rd President’s “E” and “E Star” Awards ceremony in Washington, DC.
We are proud to be one of only 30 U.S. companies selected to receive the President’s “E” Award this year.
The President’s “E” Award was created in 1961 by Executive Order of President John F. Kennedy, reviving the World War II “E” symbol of excellence to honor and recognize America’s exporters.
U.S. companies are nominated for the “E” Awards through the U.S. and Foreign Commercial Service office network, which is part of the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration.
